where true mama stories by men, women and children
from around the world are submitted each year.
Those selected are performed at a staged play-reading premiering on Maui on Mother's Day weekend,
and at different locations throughout the year.
MMM 2013 coming up!
Submit your stories, digital stories, songs and poems!
Deadline: March 1, 2013. EXTENDED FOR THOSE REQUESTING

Imagine going to a smorgasborg of mama stories: hot & cold, milky, sweet, bitter, spicy and ticklish! You are invited to submit your own story, and to produce MMM at a location near you. (Instructions below.)

"My Mama Monologues 2009" included stories from as far away as England, about mothers from places as remote as the Andes, and born as long ago as 1897. The youngest author was just seven, from Seattle. The Maui cast of 30 readers included grandparents and grandchildren, celebrities and first-timers. Click on MMM 2009 on the menu above.

The "My Mama Monologues 2010" script finished with 27 new stories. It was produced in Hawaii and in Denver, Colorado. (
www.MyMamaMonologuesDenver.com)  There was a proliferation of talented Maui authors who had gone to the 2009 performance. Click on MMM 2010 on the menu above. "MMM 2011" happened with continued success stories, and included more poetry. Maui Time Magazine carried a beautiful cover article called, "Mama Drama." Then "MMM 2012" added digital stories and songs that touched everyone's heart. Stories were mini-dramas portraying Mama in myriad ways, not all pretty, yet very real. It ended with a strong message: Honor Every Mom! . A $100 cash prize was awarded for best story and a NYC youth won it.

The birth of My Mama Monologues©

Pat Masumoto and her friends have been exchanging stories about their mothers for years. They have boasted, laughed hysterically, cried like babies, and expressed intense and mild frustrations... concerns of a lifetime...and of the last hour. What powerful therapy! The subject of an abundance of stories, Pat's 103-yr-old mother Florence Hasegawa, having survived her husband, two children and even grandchildren... expresses herself fearlessly, non-stop, and can be found on Twitter@GrandmaFlorence.

In early 2009, Pat sent out a very small signal… an invitation to submit true mama stories for a play-reading. Receiving dozens of submittals, she worked feverishly with authors who have a unique message, and Voila! MMM was born! Pat smiles, "
I hadn’t realized it would be such a gigantic baby. What an intense labor of love for us all."
