A Japanese-Jewish student at the Univ of HI, “D” at 17 won
3rd at the Maui Writer’s Conf Youth Div Short Story Contest,
& is writing a collection of short stories about her life on Maui.

Mele, an avid Hawaiian activist since she was 12, is a Kumu
Hula and Hawaiiana teacher.

With a passion for art, music, dance, drama & spiritual life,
Kamalani has lived in different cultures worldwide. Each day,

Tine's story, & her mother’s story of her mother, are drawn
from Tine's memoirs now in process after a long life having
two husbands, three careers & living on two continents.
2. Eva van Loon – Powell River, BC, Canada
Mother – born in Zurich, the Netherlands 1917
Community publisher, novelist, poet, playwright, educator &
mediator, Eva has returned to Canada after many years on
Maui to be with her mother… and live with the wolves!
3. Katje van Loon – Nanaimo, BC, Canada
Mother – born in Eindhoven, the Netherlands 1948
When not writing novels, Katje acts, directs & stage-manages
at Vancouver Island Univ. She became a drama geek when
studying with Sue Ann Loudon, Baldwin High Sch, Maui 2004.

Since 2001, Brian has been writing & producing plays whose
compelling characters create mockery out of human woes. He
& wife Claire are moving to Lake Konstanz, Germany, in June.

Born in Australia, Sharyn did acting and radio work there for
20 yrs. Since 1992, her home has been on Maui, where she
& husband run a romantic Bed & Breakfast.

Anne has been an actress & writer, with 3 plays in Kauai’s
Women In Theater 10-min Play Festivals. Dancing for
30 yrs, she is the oldest member of Hula Halau O’ Hanalei.
